KCCA FC in upbeat mood ahead as they face Nigerian side Rivers United tonight

Reigning domestic double winners, Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club will today be playing their CAF Confederation Cup fourth Group A fixture away in Port Harcourt, Nigeria against Rivers United.

KCCA FC and FUS Rabat have six points in this group but the Moroccan side leads the group on goal difference. Rivers United is bottom placed with only three points.  According to the Lugogo based club manager Mike Mutebi, he expects his side to attain the required result despite being away from home.



“We are in the perfect shape for the game. The players are motivated and ready to play. We came to Nigeria with the intention to win here and keep out intentions of advancing to the quarter finals,” said Mutebi

“They are a good team, we played them back home and we saw the challenge they gave us but we ready for that and like I have always said, we shall play our way, dominate possession and make sure we earn a good result”.

This will be the second tie between both sides; as KCCA FC won the first leg 2-1 two weeks back at Phillip Omondi Stadium thanks to Derrick Nsibambi’s brace that kept the team’s hopes of qualifying for the quarter finals alive.
