As part of its ongoing commitment to producing well-rounded, industry-ready graduates, Victoria University is set to host a powerful installment of its “Career Readiness and Employability” workshop series. Themed “Start Where You Are: From Passion to Paycheque”, the workshop aims to inspire students to channel their passions into meaningful, income-generating ventures — transforming them from job seekers into job creators.

The event, scheduled for 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the University’s main auditorium, will feature Dickson Mushabe, a trailblazing entrepreneur and tech visionary, as the guest speaker.

Mushabe, the Founder and CEO of Hostalite Ltd, leads one of East Africa’s top web hosting, design, and software development firms. Beyond Hostalite, he has founded several other ventures including Cinnamon Clubs, a FinTech platform for SACCO automation, and Dolphin Fund, a digital crowdfunding and fundraising platform. His innovation streak continues with Bamboo CMS, a client management and billing system designed to streamline business operations.

The workshop aligns with Victoria University’s hands-on learning philosophy — equipping students not only with theoretical knowledge but also the practical tools and mindset to thrive in today’s dynamic job market.

“This event is part of our broader mission to nurture students who are bold, innovative, and ready to take charge of their careers,” said a university representative. “We believe that passion, when coupled with the right mindset and guidance, can become a powerful driver of success.”

The session is expected to draw hundreds of students and young professionals eager to learn from Mushabe’s journey and tap into the wealth of entrepreneurial wisdom he brings.
