As the country continues to rebuke the atrocities carried out on civilians by the Local Defence Unit officers, former Democratic Party President Dr. Paul Ssemwogerere has added his voice to condemn the behaviour of the LDUs.

Ssemwogerere said the actions of LDUs must be blamed by everyone no matter the political affiliation someone subscribes to. He said worse actions will come up if the officers are not tamed especially as the country heads to polls in 2021.

The political veteran who was appearing on NTV said LDUs ‘perform’ the brutality on unarmed Ugandans in the name of implementing presidential directives.

“LDUs are killing civilians in the name of the President. What do you think will happen when the real election time comes? This is a seriously worrying situation,” Ssemwogerere said.

Lately, LDUs have been at the helm of many injustices in the country with cases being reported across the country.
