Jose Chameleone concedes defeat, applauds Erias Lukwago

Joseph Mayanja popularly known as Jose Chameleone has conceded defeat in the recently concluded Kampala Lord Mayor elections.

Chameleone who stood as an independent candidate gathered 12212 votes making him secure fourth position in a race that had 12 candidates.

Through his social media, the legendary singer has thanked his voters for walking with him the journey since he declared his intentions to stand for the position. He said in every race there is always a winner.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate all the nominated candidates for Kampala City Lord Mayor race 2021, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago for winning the race, I know you have heard the pleas of the people this time,” Chameleone said.

He said that every candidate in the race has additional ideas for Kampala if chance had landed on them.

Incumbent Lukwago convincingly won the race with 194,592 votes and will be serving his third term at City Hall. In the race, NUP’s Nabillah Nagayi came second with 60082 votes and in the third place was NRM’s Daniel Kazibwe with 23388 votes.
