The construction of Paradise Island Resort on Lake Victoria has entered its final stretch, with 95% of the structural work now complete.

Located just 20 minutes by speedboat from Speke Resort Munyonyo, the luxury retreat is set to become Uganda’s newest high-end destination for honeymooners, holidaymakers and corporate groups seeking exclusivity and tranquillity.

Work on the resort began on 1 May 2021 as part of a broader effort to boost domestic and international tourism. The project promises guests a blend of privacy, natural beauty and modern comfort on one of Lake Victoria’s scenic islands.

The development is being led by Sheena Ruparelia, daughter of Ruparelia Group Chairman Dr Sudhir Ruparelia. Under her supervision, the island has been transformed into an eco-friendly, contemporary hospitality haven designed to compete with the region’s top resorts.

The project initially featured 22 units, but rising demand projections led to the addition of 16 more in the second phase. The resort now offers a diverse accommodation portfolio, including 10 Standard Cottages, 11 Standard Cliff Hanger Cottages with panoramic lake views, 14 Deluxe Two-Bedroom Cottages, and 3 Executive Villas for guests seeking premium seclusion.

Set on 19 acres of land, Paradise Island Resort is bordered by a rocky neighbouring island rich in indigenous trees and home to large bird populations — a natural attraction for bird-watching enthusiasts.

The resort joins a growing list of flagship hospitality developments by the Ruparelia Group, including the expansion of Kabira Country Club, the Speke Resort Convention Centre, Kingdom Hotel and Ssese Beach Resort.
