Banking is not only about transactions, it is about enabling investment, expansion and long-term sustainability,” Bairstow added.
He further explained that the bank’s asset financing solutions also extend to institutions like schools, healthcare facilities, construction businesses, transport operators and enterprises investing in sustainable energy solutions.
“Our focus is to enable businesses to acquire the assets required for growth while preserving resources needed to run and expand operations,” he said.
The launch also featured a fireside chat, moderated by I&M Bank Uganda Chief Business Officer- Gibson Nangono, under the theme ‘Preserving Capital, Driving Continuity,’ with a sub-theme focusing on asset financing for family businesses.

The panel featured Elizabeth Kibuka, Founder of Enjovu Group and Head of Enjovu Family Business, Micah Okello, General Manager of Ndovu Motors Limited, and Dickson Mwesigwa, Acting General Manager of Victoria Motors Limited.
The panellists explored how businesses can finance vehicles, tractors and other productive assets without tying up capital needed to sustain their operations. The discussion explored the considerations involved in choosing between using retained earnings and borrowing, as well as the role of asset financing and operating leases in supporting business expansion.

Mwesigwa emphasized the importance of financial literacy in helping customers make informed asset financing decisions. He noted that Victoria Motors will provide maintenance for vehicles purchased during the campaign for two years after acquisition.
“Acquiring an asset is only the first step; customers also need to understand how to finance it responsibly and maintain it over time. Our two-year maintenance support is intended to help protect their investment,” he said.
Ndovu outlined its customer support approach, which combines equipment delivery, practical guidance on machinery use and complimentary servicing during the initial hours of operation.

“We want customers to get the most out of their equipment from the start. That is why we guide them on its proper use and provide free servicing for the first 500 operating hours. With affordable financing, acquiring a tractor becomes more accessible,” Okello said.
Enjovu called on families to look beyond day-to-day business operations and plan for leadership transitions to safeguard the future of their enterprises.

“Succession planning should not wait until a business owner is ready to retire. Families need to prepare the next generation early to ensure business continuity and preserve what they have worked hard to build,” Kibuka said.
The fireside chat also featured a Q&A session, allowing guests to engage with the panelists and seek further clarification on the topics discussed.
Annette Nakiyaga, the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications I&M Bank Uganda, said Season 2 of the campaign builds on the success of the first season.

In Season 2, we are reaching more entrepreneurs across Uganda to better understand their needs and support their shared ambition for sustainable growth through meaningful engagement and practical solutions,” she said.

After the launch, the bank staff carried out market outreach, where they engaged with the community and business owners across Jinja town, to understand their needs, strengthen customer relationships and highlight the financial solutions available to support their growth.
