Kenzo skips Channel O Awards for US show

The Channel O Awards are on this Saturday evening at Nasrec Expo Centre in Soweto, South Africa. Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo picked up is very first nomination in the continental awards thanks to his Sitya Loss, but he will not be present at the awards ceremony.

Kenzo is nominated in the Most Gifted East African category alongside homeboy Navio plus Kenyan bands Sauti Sol and Elani and Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz.

Kenzo is currently on the American leg of his world tour. He performed in New York on Friday evening.

The singer has chosen making money over the awards.

Meanwhile, South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest and K.O dominate this year’s nominations, with Nigeria’s Davido matching their five nominations each.

Davido who won the BET Africa award earlier this year is set to perform in Kampala next weekend.
