Athletes, adventure seekers, and music lovers are in for a treat this weekend as the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon returns to Kasese on Saturday, August 23, promising more miles, more music, and more magic than ever before.

Now in its 4th edition, the marathon has become one of Uganda’s most exciting sports tourism events, drawing runners from across the globe. From the challenging 42km to the fun-filled 5km family run, every step offers breathtaking views of the Rwenzori mountains and the warm hospitality of Kasese.

But when the running shoes come off, that’s when the real party begins. The streets of Kasese will come alive for the Tusker Lite Neon Rave, the legendary afterparty that has runners swapping race bibs for glow sticks.

This year’s headline act? None other than BET award winner Eddy Kenzo, bringing his global hits like Jubilation, Weekend, and Sitya Loss to the Rwenzori stage. He’ll be joined by the viral sensations Kasese Giant and his father, Daddy Kawato, yes, the duo behind the “ini waaa wa wa…” dance craze, plus a lineup of top DJs and local rising stars ready to light up the night.

“This is going to be an experience like no other,” said Denise Nazzinda, Tusker Lite Brand Manager. “We want everyone to lace up, pack up, and come ready to Turn On Your Lite. From the marathon to the Neon Street Rave, Kasese is the place to be this weekend. If you miss it, you’ll be hearing about it from everyone else.”

The Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon is not just about endurance; it’s about exploration. Visitors can immerse themselves in Kasese’s magic: snowcapped peaks, crater lakes, national parks, and vibrant culture.

Tickets are going for Shs60,000, with kits available at Station Express at Forest Mall.

So, whether you’re running, raving, or just chasing good vibes, Kasese is calling. Don’t be left out.
