Pearl Magic Prime is marking five years of Ugandan storytelling, celebrating a journey defined by creativity, community and a deliberate focus on promoting local talent. Since its launch, the channel has grown into a household name, bringing families together, nurturing new stars and placing Ugandan stories at the forefront of television entertainment.
To commemorate the milestone, the channel is observing its anniversary under the theme The Sound of Our Stories, a nostalgic tribute to the memorable moments that have shaped its identity. From popular catchphrases that entered everyday conversation to signature musical cues that instantly set the tone, the campaign highlights the emotional connection audiences have built with its content.

Over the years, Pearl Magic Prime productions have gained recognition on major platforms such as the Uganda Film Festival (UFF), the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) and other regional stages. Popular titles including Prestige, Sanyu, Damalie and Beloved have received accolades for acting, cinematography, directing and overall production quality, underscoring the strength of Ugandan storytelling on the continental scene.

Reflecting on the achievement, PR and Communications Manager Rinaldi Jamugisa thanked viewers for their continued support.
“For five years, audiences have trusted Pearl Magic Prime to tell stories that reflect who we are. They have welcomed our characters into their homes, debated plot twists and celebrated the talent. This anniversary honours the viewers who watch us daily and the creators whose passion keeps the industry growing,” he said.
In the past year, the channel introduced new programmes that brought fresh voices and bold creative direction, sparking wider engagement among fans. These additions strengthened its programme lineup and reinforced its position as a hub for authentic and relatable Ugandan content.
Margaret Mathore, Head of Channels at M-Net East Africa, said the channel’s growth demonstrates its impact on the local industry.
“In just five years, M-Net has invested significantly in Uganda’s creative sector, delivering close to 8,000 hours of local stories through commissioned, licensed and local-language programming,” she noted.
She added that the figures represent more than output, pointing to careers developed, talent nurtured and cultural narratives preserved.
“Our goal remains to elevate local voices and present them with production quality that can compete globally. The next five years will offer even more opportunities for creators and richer experiences for our audiences,” Mathore said.
As part of the celebrations, viewers will see refreshed on-air promotions, special messages from cast members and other anniversary features across digital platforms, aimed at appreciating audiences who have supported the channel since its inception.
