Mestil Gardens came alive last Thursday as R&B fans gathered for the Captain Morgan Muck Pit edition of Strictly Soul, with Crysto deejay turning a laid-back evening into a lively sing-along party.
The night started in the dedicated Muck Pit cocktail zone, where guests sampled rum cocktails before making their way into the main party tent.
As expected at many Kampala events, revellers initially settled around tables, enjoying their drinks as Bamos DJ eased them into the evening with a selection of classic R&B hits.

He later handed over to Akio, but getting the crowd off their seats and onto the dance floor required a little more effort. The host encouraged guests to leave their tables, while the house lights were dimmed to create a more intimate party atmosphere.
The turning point came when Crysto deejay took over the decks.

He quickly drew revellers towards the front, building momentum with a mix of old-school favourites and more recent hits that had guests singing along to familiar tunes.
Ugandan R&B classics such as Blu 3’s Ndi Beera Nawe and Aziz Azion’s Nkumira Omukwano brought back memories for many in the crowd, while Chris Brown’s Yo (Excuse Me Miss) added an international touch to the set.

The smooth transitions between local favourites and international hits kept the energy going, turning the dance floor into a gathering of fans singing along to songs they knew by heart.

Captain Morgan cocktails flowed throughout the night as guests enjoyed the music, drinks and company.

By the time Crysto deejay had worked through his set, the event had delivered the kind of atmosphere Strictly Soul has become known for: an evening built around R&B classics, shared musical memories and the chance to enjoy familiar sounds with fellow fans.

The Captain Morgan Muck Pit edition added another chapter to the Kampala event series, bringing together music lovers for a night that moved from relaxed drinks at the tables to a packed dance floor.
