Swangz Creative Academy has graduated more than 100 young creatives at its 4th Edition Graduation Ceremony held at the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) Auditorium in Kololo, marking another milestone in efforts to professionalise Uganda’s creative industry.
The graduates completed intensive training programmes in video production, audio production, events management and digital marketing. The academy, an initiative of leading creative company Swangz Avenue, was set up to turn raw talent into professional skill through structured, hands-on training delivered by experienced industry practitioners.

Since its inception, Swangz Creative Academy has focused on equipping young creatives with practical knowledge that prepares them for real-world opportunities in media, events and digital production. The goal is not only to sharpen creative skills but also to support job creation and contribute to the growth of Uganda’s creative economy.

Beyond technical training, the graduates were inspired by seasoned industry leaders who shared lessons drawn from their own journeys. Uncle Mo encouraged the young creatives to start creating immediately rather than waiting for opportunities, stressing that consistency and output are what attract recognition. Aaronaire reminded them that graduation is only the beginning, noting that true learning happens through doing—starting projects, facing challenges and understanding how the industry works.

Swangz Avenue Head of Production, Benon Mugumbya, urged the graduates to be reliable, teachable and solution-oriented, while treating their creative abilities as a business.

The ceremony also featured practical guidance on the business side of creativity. William Tumwine, Assistant Commissioner for Registration Services at URSB, educated graduates on business registration, copyright and intellectual property protection, highlighting the importance of formalising creative work to build sustainable careers.

The event underscored the growing partnership between Swangz Avenue and URSB in promoting professionalism, sustainability and youth empowerment within the creative sector. As the academy continues to grow with each edition, it is steadily shaping a new generation of content creators, producers, event professionals and digital marketers.
With this graduation, more than 100 skilled and inspired creatives have been added to Uganda’s creative economy, equipped not only with talent, but also with the knowledge and mindset needed to succeed.
