The National Alliance of Ugandan Canadian Associations has unveiled plans for its first-ever Business and Cultural Convention, a three-day event aimed at bringing together Ugandans across Canada and the wider diaspora.

The inaugural gathering will take place from October 9 to 11, 2026 in Vancouver, and is expected to draw a diverse mix of community leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, youth, and cultural performers.

Organized under the theme “Building Prosperity Through Community Investments,” the convention will focus on strengthening economic opportunities while reinforcing social and cultural ties within the Ugandan-Canadian community.

Participants can expect a packed programme featuring business forums, leadership discussions, investment-focused sessions, and youth engagement activities.

Cultural showcases highlighting Ugandan music, art, and traditions will also form a key part of the experience, reflecting the community’s rich heritage.

Beyond the sessions, the event is designed to serve as a major networking platform—connecting business leaders, policymakers, academics, and community organizations interested in expanding economic and social opportunities among Ugandan Canadians.

As the umbrella body representing Ugandan-Canadian associations nationwide, NAUCA continues to play a central role in uniting the community, promoting collaboration, and preserving cultural identity. This convention marks a new chapter in those efforts, offering a space to deepen connections both within Canada and with partners in Uganda.

“This inaugural convention represents an important step in bringing our community together to share ideas, celebrate our heritage, and explore opportunities for collective growth,” said a NAUCA representative. “By investing in our communities and strengthening partnerships, we can build a more prosperous future for the next generation.”

The event is expected to attract attendees from across Canada, along with international guests interested in diaspora engagement, business collaboration, and cultural exchange.

Registration details are available on the organization’s official website.
