There is a pure joy in finding ways to celebrate with old friends and make new ones through the universal language of play. Not just as children, but also as adults with a healthy appetite for competition, connection, and celebration.

The 3rd edition of the Waga Olympics, and the first proudly supported by Uganda Waragi, proved exactly that on Saturday following a day filled with the raw energy of competition and the shared ritual of a good drink.

Friends-turned-rivals gathered at SKA The Boutique for an adult sports day like no other featuring a lineup of classic nostalgic games with a grown‑up twist as teams like Premium, Lemon and Ginger, Coconut, and Pineapple battled alongside Team Tequila and Whiskey.

Representing for Team Premium, Hilda Aguti, Marketing Manager of Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries, said, “Seeing friends come together to compete, laugh, and toast in the Waga Olympics is exactly the authentic Ugandan spirit we are proud to celebrate in our So UG So 60 campaign.”

From Flip the Bottle to sack, wheelbarrow and Three‑Legged Races, plus a surprisingly intense Spelling Bee, every round raised both heart rates and laughter. Between games, DJs Kai, Ames, KRU, Vanz, and Bugy rotated on the decks, while specially curated cocktails circulated with the likes of the Waragi Bender, 3:40 in Bandali and the P.E Prefect, all crafted to match the high‑energy action and keep the spirits high as every game started and ended with a toast.

Meats and crispy snacks fueled the crowd as the leaderboard shifted with every completed round. After a full day of fun and games, wrapping with a fiercely contested round of musical chairs and the final, decisive Tug of War, team Lemon & Ginger claimed gold while Team Premium took silver. The winning teams walked away with medals, Uganda Waragi hampers and tickets to the upcoming edition of Sho Na Le.

As the after‑party Kadanke, took over, the day showed that an adult sports day is good when you win but the true victory lies in the moments of playing and toasting with friends. That is the spirit of celebration. This is So UG. So now.
