The Serena Hotel Ballroom was filled to capacity on Friday night as Uganda Waragi saw comedians Patrick “Salvado” Idringi and Dr. Hillary Okello join forces for the landmark “2 Kings One Mic” showcase in a night that proved Ugandan laughter is best served blended.

Guests were welcomed with flashy backdrops and a dedicated Uganda Waragi cocktail station, setting the tone for an evening that celebrated unity through humour. Janzi Band serenaded early arrivals as they settled in, while the circulating drinks and bites underscored the premium yet distinctly Ugandan atmosphere.

Roy Tumwizere, Senior Brand Manager for Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries Limited, who was in attendance, spoke saying,

“Ugandans have a unique way of finding humor in every aspect of life, so it is a privilege for Uganda Waragi to bring communities together and celebrate the unity of these two comedy kings in the binding Spirit of laughter and shared joy.”

The laughter kicked off early and never slowed down. The night’s host, Dr. Mitch set a roaring tone, jokingly renaming the evening a glorious celebration of “2 Kings One Mitch” in his catchy one-liners and punchy interludes between the sets. Kotilda warmed the crowd with relatable dating-life observations, Okello Okello shifted the energy with some impressive short rant-like jokes.

Dr Hillary delivered sharp commentary on the shared African experience and the daily struggles of keeping up in Kampala. Salvador followed with a commanding set, blending physical humour with playful crowd banter that had the auditorium roaring. The comedians were unafraid to engage attendees, who took it all in good nature- laughing and toasting all through.

As the curtains came down, the two kings took the stage together to express their heartfelt but banterful thanks to the crowd for an unforgettable turnout. It was a night truly well-blended celebration of Ugandan craft and the shared joy that binds the nation together.
