Tusker Lite Neon Run set to light up Kampala this Friday

With just days to go, all eyes are now on Kololo as the Tusker Lite Neon Run takes place this Friday, May 8th, at Circuit Lounge, promising a unique mix of fitness and fun. The event will start at 6:30 PM.

‎The event returns on Uganda’s social calendar under the theme “Ignite the Lite.” After weeks of preparation, organisers say they are ready to deliver a smooth and exciting experience. ‎The run will feature 5KM and 10KM races.

Julius Nkuraija, an experienced route designer and race director, has brought his expertise to the Tusker Lite Neon Run, overseeing course planning, safety measures, and overall race coordination to ensure participants enjoy a smooth and well-organised experience.

“I understand the difference between morning/daytime races and night runs. So, somethings have to be put into consideration when planning the route map to ensure participants move smoothly and safely through the course. The route is safe and ideal for the run, so runners should come ready to enjoy the experience,” he said.

‎The Neon Run switches things up from the other Tusker Lite Runs, which are normally performance-based, and instead offers a cocktail of recreation and wellness, blending a relaxed running experience with music, neon lights, and entertainment along the route to create a lively, social atmosphere where participants can enjoy the run at their own pace.

‎Tusker Lite Brand Manager Sandra Againe, said the new twist is meant to shift the Neon Run experience from a purely performance-driven race into a lifestyle.

“Tusker Lite Neon Run is designed to give people a different way to experience fitness in a relaxed, social environment. It is about enjoying the run at your own pace while being part of a lively atmosphere with music, lights, and great company. We are encouraging everyone to sign up and grab their slot while it still lasts,” she said.

She added the night run experience aligns with the brand’s purpose in celebrating people who live boldly, chase their passions, and find balance in enjoying life responsibly.

The event will feature live music mixes from DJ KasBaby and DJ Bugy.

Registration for the Tusker Lite Neon Run is still open at a fee of just Shs20,000. Payments can be made through the Stanbic FlexiPay.
