There is something about the last Sunday of the month in Kampala. It carries a certain feeling—a chance to slow down, celebrate the little victories, catch up with familiar faces and step into a new month with renewed energy.

That feeling returns this Sunday as The Big Meeting takes over Thrones Bar and Lounge for its June edition, once again bringing together everything that has made it one of Kampala’s most anticipated monthly experiences.

Curated by The Singleton, The Big Meeting has grown beyond being just another brunch. It has become a ritual for the city’s revellers, offering a daytime escape where good music, great food and handcrafted cocktails come together in an atmosphere that is equal parts relaxed and electric.

Starting from 11am until late, guests will once again have the opportunity to take matters into their own hands, quite literally. Rather than simply ordering a cocktail, they will step behind the bar alongside expert mixologists to create their own signature drinks using The Singleton’s smooth single malt whisky. Whether you prefer bright citrus notes, refreshing herbs or a richer whisky-forward blend, every cocktail becomes an extension of its creator.

The experience doesn’t stop at the bar.

As the grills fire up and plates make their way around the venue, Kampala’s stylish crowd is expected to once again turn Thrones into one of the city’s most fashionable Sunday gatherings. Conversations will flow as easily as the cocktails, while friends old and new reconnect over shared stories and shared tables.

Soundtracking the afternoon into the evening will be an exciting lineup of DJs, carefully selected to guide the mood from laid-back brunch rhythms into energetic sunset sessions. From soulful classics and Afrobeats to Afro house, amapiano and electronic sounds, every set is designed to keep revellers moving well into the night.

It is this effortless blend of music, creativity and community that has made The Big Meeting stand apart. There is no rush, no pressure and no entry fee, just an open invitation for Kampala to gather, unwind and celebrate another month well lived.

Simon Lapyem, The Singleton Brand Manager, says every edition is designed to give consumers an experience that goes beyond enjoying a drink.

“The Big Meeting is our way of bringing people together to celebrate life’s everyday moments. Every month, we create a space where our consumers can express themselves through music, conversation and creativity, especially by crafting cocktails that reflect their own tastes. It is these shared experiences that make The Singleton more than just a whisky, it becomes part of memorable moments,” he says.

As June draws to a close, The Big Meeting once again invites Kampala to do what it does best, show up, raise a glass and toast to another month, before turning the page to July.
