St. Cyprian house has been crowned the Supreme House of SJNOSA Fest 2026, capping off a day-long sports and reunion event held yesterday at St. Joseph’s S.S.S. Naggalama, organized by the school’s Old Students’ Association (SJNOSA). St. Jude finished as first runners up, with St. Mbaaga taking third place, ahead of St. Augustine, St. Kizito and the Staff Team.

The Fest, which doubled as a celebration of 58 years since the school’s founding, brought together six teams competing across basketball, volleyball, football, swimming, athletics and tag of war, alongside fun events including the beer race, sack race, cone gathering and arm wrestling. The day closed with an awarding ceremony and a dance party that carried the celebrations into the evening.

The event was graced by the Chairman of the school’s Parents Teachers Association, Mr. Alex Patrick Ssemanda, who attended as guest of honor and joined old students and staff in cheering on the six competing houses throughout the day.

Speaking after the closing ceremony, the school’s Headmistress, Ms. Agnes Nsubuga, congratulated St. Cyprian on the win and thanked the old students for turning up in such large numbers.

“Congratulations to St. Cyprian for a well fought win, and to St. Jude and St. Mbaaga for pushing them all the way. But honestly, every house that showed up in their jersey today is a winner in my eyes. To see this many old students back on these grounds, fifty eight years after we first opened our gates, tells you everything about what this school means to the people who passed through it,”said Ms. Nsubuga.

The Chairman of the Fest Organizing Committee, Mr. Felix Kakaire (2006 to 2007), described the day as one of the association’s most successful events yet.

“We set out to build something that would bring every generation of Naggalama back to one field, and today proved it was possible. St. Cyprian fought for that trophy from the first whistle to the last, and they deserve every bit of this win. I want to thank every committee member, every volunteer and every Old Boy and Old Girl who paid, showed up and made this day what it was,”said Mr. Kakaire.

SJNOSA President, Ms. Naume Sikhoya, also paid tribute to the association’s Executive Committee, whose planning and coordination underpinned the day’s success.

“A day like this does not organise itself. Behind every match, every meal served and every jersey handed out was a committee that gave its time and energy long before the gates ever opened. The committee leads us all, and I am deeply grateful for their sacrifice. To every member who trusted that leadership and showed up, thank you for making SJNOSA proud,”

said Ms. Sikhoya.

Organizers say proceeds from the Fest will go towards SJNOSA’s ongoing projects at the school, with plans already underway for next year’s edition.
