Movit Africa has rewarded three long-serving cosmetics traders in Masaka and Kyotera with tuk-tuks to help them expand their businesses, reduce transport costs and reach more customers.
The beneficiaries are Senalim Hakim of Senah Cosmetics in Masaka City Central Business District, Kalungi K of Kabonera Cosmetic Agency in Masaka City, and Joseph Katongole of Mombasa Traders in Kyotera Town.
The three traders have stocked Movit products for more than 20 years and have played a key role in distributing the company’s products to consumers in their respective areas and surrounding communities.
Movit Africa said the traders were selected based on their long-standing relationship with the company, consistent stocking of its products and contribution to expanding the brand’s presence in the region.
The company said the tuk-tuks are intended to serve as business assets rather than simply rewards for loyalty. They will enable the traders to transport larger quantities of stock, reduce delivery times and expenses, and serve customers beyond their usual areas of operation.
Yasin Mbowa, Movit Africa’s Trade Marketing Manager, said improving last-mile distribution was important to both the company and its trade partners.
“The last mile is where our products ultimately meet the consumer, and our trade partners are central to making that connection possible,” Mbowa said.
He added that the tuk-tuks would help the traders overcome transport challenges, carry more stock, reach more customers and grow their businesses.
“When our partners grow, we grow with them,” Mbowa said.
Movit Africa said the initiative is part of its wider effort to recognise and support trade partners who have demonstrated consistency, strong performance and long-term commitment to the company.
The company said it expects the new business assets to help the three traders improve their operations while further expanding access to Movit products in Masaka, Kyotera and neighbouring areas.
