Most popular opposition party Forum for Democratic Change is planning to organize its own Independence Day celebrations separate from the usual National Celebrations.

FDC spokesperson Ibrahim Semujju Nganda has confirmed that the party will hold a meeting tomorrow with top most party members at their party headquarters in Najjanankumbi. They will discuss on how best they can prepare for the celebrations. “Our celebrations will be either held in Kampala or Wakiso” said Semujju.

Semujju argued that the cause to their separate celebrations is due to the fact that the ruling party personalized the national celebrations leaving out the parties that would have played a part in the event. “Independence is meant for the entire nation not NRM,” he added.
