Cross-border spenders’ group Rich gang has trashed recent reports that have linked one of the suspects in the mysterious Susan Magara murder to the group. A report published in one of the local dailies alleged that Patrick Agaba aka Pato, one of the arrested suspects and cousin to the deceased, is a member of Rich Gang.

However, the group has come out to clarify, saying Pato has never been a member of the group.

“Rich Gang would like to inform the general public that Pato is not part of Rich gang and has never been a member,” a statement released from the group reads in part.

The group further distanced  themselves from acts of aggression saying, “We condemn such barbaric acts of violence that were done to a young soul.”

Speaking exclusively to this website, Ed Cheune, one of the founding members further clarified that “not everyone with money belongs to Rich Gang.”

In case you missed it, the arrest of Patrick Agaba was effected on Wednesday following a tip from a Ugandan security agency spearheading the probe into the brutal killing of the Bwendero Diary Farm Accountant whose body was found dumped by a roadside bush near Kigo on February 27.

According to reports, Pato travelled to South Africa on February 25 and was carrying the ransom money paid out by the Magara family on February 24th.

‘Intelligence information indicates that Agaba (Pato) transported the money which was in dollars out of the country through Entebbe Airport,’ a report in the local daily reads.
