US Mission in partnership with Breakdance Project Uganda to promote local arts industry

The U.S. Mission in Uganda, in partnership with Breakdance Project Uganda (BPU), has organised a set of events dubbed Arts Envoy 2018 to be carried out in Kampala, Wakiso, Masaka and Jinja this month. The activities  to support the development of the arts industry in Uganda. The events kicked off last week in Jinja and this week it continues in Kampala.

On Thursday, August 9,  a business workshop that will teach Ugandans about copyright and related issues will be held at The Square in Kampala, and two days later a concert will be held at YMCA, Wandegeya on Saturday, August 11.

Such series were created to help young Ugandans who are making their way in the music and entertainment business. In this, the workshops focus on subjects like: building your brand and business, mental health and wellbeing, media promotion, earning from creativity, copyright issues, gender and the entertainment industry, promoting exchange between artists and will include hiphop coaching and collaboration in studio.
