The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has reminded schools, parents and candidates that the late registration period for the 2026 national examinations will officially close on 31 July 2026, with no further extensions.
Speaking on the deadline, UNEB spokesperson Jennifer Kalule Musamba said candidates who fail to register by the closing date will not be allowed to register afterwards.
Candidates registering during the late registration period will pay an additional fee depending on the examination level. The late registration fee is Shs68,000 for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Shs248,000 for the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Shs279,000 for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
Kalule urged head teachers to ensure all eligible learners are registered before the deadline to avoid inconveniences. She also encouraged parents and guardians to personally confirm with schools that their children have been successfully registered.
UNEB emphasised that 31 July 2026 is the final registration deadline for all candidates sitting this year’s PLE, UCE and UACE examinations, and no registrations will be accepted after that date.
