Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz has deleted all recent posts and videos from his social media pages, including Instagram, where he had publicly supported President Samia Suluhu Hassan and her Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party.

The deleted content featured footage from CCM campaign rallies and President Suluhu’s recent tours, where Diamond performed and voiced his endorsement of her leadership. His decision to remove the posts comes as anti-Suluhu protests intensify across Tanzania.

The demonstrations were triggered by growing frustration over the government’s alleged crackdown on opposition figures, marked by arrests, disappearances, and legal restrictions. Critics say these actions have severely limited political freedoms ahead of the upcoming elections.

Diamond had faced backlash from fans and the public for openly backing President Suluhu’s re-election bid. In response to the unrest, authorities have imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in Dar es Salaam and restricted internet access across the country.

Diamond is not the only artist caught in the political storm. Other top Tanzanian musicians — including Ali Kiba, Harmonize, Nandy, Zuchu, and Rayvanny — have also endorsed President Suluhu through songs, performances, and social media tributes, praising her leadership and development agenda.
