COVID-19: New cases drop to 100; single day recoveries are over 1000

The Uganda National Planning Authority has said that Uganda surpassed the peak of the second wave of COVID-19 and also disclosed that the country is yet to receive any threat of the third wave.

However, the Ministry of Health insists that despite the positive strides in the fight against coronavirus, the population should not become complacent on following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The health ministry has today reported 193 new cases of COVID-19 taking the cumulative cases to 91,355. The breakdown of the new cases are; 192 Contacts and Alerts: Kampala (87) Tororo (18) Kagadi (8) Kumi (8) Kabarole (7) Soroti (1) Oyam (5) Masaka (5) Paliisa (4) Kanungu (4) Namayingo (5) Jinja (3) Luwero (3) Buikwe (2) Busia (3) Adjumani (2) Mubende (4) Wakiso (2) Adjumani (2) Wakiso (2) Kabale (2) Namisindwa (2) Manafwa (2) Lamwo (2) Isingiro (1) Kitgum (4) Kapchorwa (1) Amuria (1) Kyotera (1) Budaka (1) Mbarara (1)

The published data shows that the positivity rate has reduced to 7.7% and the overall number active cases in hospitals across the country are 794.

1231 persons have beaten the COVID-19 battle taking the total number to 71,750. On the sad note, 58 people have succumbed to COVID-19. To date, 2483 people have succumbed to the deadly virus.
