If her online popularity is anything to go by, Dr. Stella Nyanzi indeed commands a big following. Her supporters swarmed Kampala High Court this morning and by 9am, the courtroom was packed as people wait eagerly to witness the bail hearing.
Foreign journalists were all ready and set to document that events that has attracted international attention.
The Criminal division of High court recalled Nyanzi’s case file from Buganda Road Magistrate’s court following an appeal by her lawyer Isaac Kimaze Semakadde. Kimaze claimed that the Buganda Road court chief magistrate James Ereemye Mawanda had a coalition with the state to frustrate his client’s bail application hearing.
Dr. Stella Nyanzi is battling cases of cyber harassment and cyber communication. She was remanded to Luzira Prison about two weeks ago.
