The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has ordered its Members of Parliament to reject President Museveni’s proposed armoured vehicles and snipers.

The party president, Patrick Amuriat, argued that the country has already endured high insecurity with rampant kidnaps, murders, and crime adding that the MPs already have enough security and should not be given preferential treatment ahead of the populace.

“All Ugandans need security not just a certain political class. Why should an already suffering taxpayer endure another burden to keep someone else secure when he himself is not?”

POA as his is known told the media at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi that the country is not a war zone and that armoured vehicles and snipers are a luxury the country cannot afford.

“We are not in Somalia. The country is not at war. If the MPs are unpopular, let them work on that but they should not burden the already overtaxed Ugandan,” he noted.

“We’re hereby asking our MPS to reject Museveni’s snipers and armoured cars and we call upon other MPs -even from the NRM to do the same.”
