The former police boss has been in detention in Makindye Military Barracks since early June a charge or court appearance.

Kampala Associated Advocates (KAA), his law firm has confirmed the information.

“Yes, we have been notified that the General will be in court at Makindye tomorrow. We have been waiting for this moment,” Jet Tumwebaze, one of his lawyers said.

According to insider sources, Kayihura will be charged with abuse of office not the murder of his deputy, Andrew Felix Kaweesi as widely published.

Kayihura will be tried on the same day as Kyadondo MP, Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) who is also being held in the same barracks on charges of illegal possession of guns and ammunition – a monopoly of the UPDF.
