Days after government gazetted the red beret as a monopoly property of the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) with anyone putting it on risking being prosecuted in the military court, People Power Movement Spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi reacted on the new directive and revealed that banning the beret is one of the many strategies government is employing in a bid to frustrate the pressure group.

“I hear government has banned the red beret. They’re really getting sleepless nights because of People Power,” Ssenyonyi said before adding that, “He forgets that whatever he intends for our harm just pushes us forward.”

The fast-rising pressure group mouthpiece further revealed that government still has a lot more ‘bogus’ guidelines intended to calm down the change storm they (People Power) have geared up. He revealed that their sources have already tipped them about the possible ceasing off the group by government.
