In the past few months, President Museveni has appeared on our local TV and radio stations more times than we have gone out to see the light of day, and it is all because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The President has every now and then addressed the country to offer directives, orders, guidelines, suspensions, temporary bans, updates, cautions and everything else concerning the coronavirus pandemic, all aimed at containing its spreading and eventually fight it until it is kicked out of the country.

The temporary bans on using public and private transport were time-capped so their period of 14 days expires today, and Ugandans have been wondering whether they can go back to their normal business of moving just about anywhere and everywhere as before.

There has not been an official announcement about people’s concerns, so the President will have another address to the country tomorrow, Tuesday April 14, 2020 from State House, according to his Senior Press Secretary Don Wanyama.

“H.E. President Yoweri Museveni will address the country tomorrow (Tuesday) at midday (12 noon) to offer guidance in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and earlier guidelines,” Wanyama tweeted.

Currently, Uganda has 54 confirmed COVID-19 cases with four recoveries. The Ministry of Health said that they are assessing 15 other cases for discharge in the coming few days.
