42-year-old HIV positive man arrested for raping a deaf woman

Police in Iganga district has arrested a 42-year-old Joseph Basalirwa and detained at CPS, Iganga on allegations of raping 28 year old deaf woman.

According to the PRO Busoga EAST Region ASP James Mubi, the incident happened on  Sunday December 6 at around 2:00 pm at the victim’s home in Buwana village, Bwanalira Parish, Bulamagi sub-county, Iganga district.

The suspect is a teacher at Buwana Primary School. The suspect was taken for medical examination and the result turned out that he is HIV positive. Police says investigations into the matter are on-going.
