For about four months now, Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine’s campaigning team that includes singing partner, Ali Bukeni aka Nubian Li, private security guard Eddy Mutwe and producer Dan Magic among others have been incarcerated at Kitalya Prison on charges of illegal possession of four rounds of fire magazines and four bullets.

On several occasion, the general Court Martial sitting in Makindye chaired by Lt Gen Andrew Gutti has declined to grant them bail saying if granted bail, the suspects might continue inciting the public to carry out violence.

However, lawyers representing them say they appealed the said ruling in the high court because they are dissatisfied with the ruling calling it unconstitutional.

Today morning Bobi Wine has shared a heartfelt post to his singing partner Nubian Li and others that are jail. In his post shared on social media, Bobi Wine praises Nubian of taking care of all the arrested comrades by lifting them up through his counselling sessions.

Below is Bobi Wine post in part;

You are having your share of the shadow of death for simply being my brother and believing that Uganda deserves better. I thank you for remaining strong for the rest of the team. Our comrades who have come out of prison have told me that you have taken leadership of hundreds of our comrades at Kitalya, and done so with grace. They have told me that you are now a counsellor – some comrades come to you at the verge of despair and you encourage them to remain strong and hopeful in the face of impunity, injustice and uncertainty. I am strengthened by the fact that when we took this path, we fully understood the risks and challenges that lay ahead. May you continue being strong for the sake of everybody. Here on the outside, we are doing everything within our power to secure your release, but the dictator is also doing everything within his power to keep you under illegal detention. But like we always said, the forces of evil may appear very fearsome, but they never win in the end! Hang in there bro.
