Newly appointed Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Hon. Mathias Mpuuga has advised fellow opposition players to quickly get over what happened in the Speaker and Deputy Speaker elections.

In the recent days Forum for Democratic Change and Kira Municipality legislator Hon Ssemujju Nganda have been throwing all kinds of shades to National Unity Platform (NUP) MPs for allegedly opting Rebecca Kadaga in the speakership race instead of Ssemujju.

Mpuuga however says that NUP leadership didn’t order anyone to vote a particular candidate in the Speakership race as what is being said is mere propaganda against them.

“FDC knows what happened and they are trying to go for the soft target which is NUP because I am sure they didn’t even get “their own votes”. They are trading intellectual dishonesty,” says Mpuuga.

Mpuuga believes that opposition players should swallow their ego, calm down and talk to each other.

“As NUP, we aren’t looking for Patrons; we are looking for people who want to work with us. As long as the Opposition is united, then I am confident that we can challenge this regime daunting around as a political party,” he says.
