The presiding judge of Masaka High Court her Lordship Victoria Nakintu Katamba has granted bail to Jailed legislators Allan Ssewanyana (Makindye West) Allan Ssewanyana and Kawempe North’s Muhammad Ssegirinya. The cash bail has been Shs20 million each.
The duo was represented by Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and Hon Shammim Malende in the hybrid session where the two MPs were on zoom.
The MPs were early this month remanded to prison on six charges, including murder, attempted murder and aiding and abetting terrorism.
State says some of the suspects arrested, implicated the two MPs of having hired them to carry out the killings, allegedly promising them large sums of money.
The MPs were charged with four others including Sserwada Mike, Muwonge Jude,Wamala Bulo and Mugerwa John who have also been granted bail.
