Police arrest 58 suspects behind city robberies

Over 58 suspected criminals are being held at Katwe Police Station following their arrest in a Police operation on Wednesday.

This followed the public outcry of residents in Kisangani area located in Masajja A Zone Masajja Parish, Masajja Division about thugs that are based in their area and have been carrying out aggravated robberies in and around Kampala.

The suspects have been allegedly participating in aggravated robberies targeting residential houses and persons in areas of Salaama, Masajja, Mutundwe, and Bunamwaya.

According to Police, during the operation, they were able to recover narcotics substances, pangas, housebreaking implements, and gloves that are used to cover fingerprints during the robberies.

The suspects arrested are currently detained at Katwe Police Division and will be processed and arraigned in courts of law.
