Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi appointed new Supreme Mufti

Officials at Kibuli Mosque have announced Sheikh Mohammed Galabuzi as the New Supreme Mufti replacing Sheikh Kasule Ndirangwa.

The new Supreme Mufti is set to swear in this Friday at Kibuli alongside his two deputies. The two deputies are Sheikh Ibrahim Ntanda and Sheikh Mahad Kakooza.

In April this year, Sheikh Siliman Kasule Ndirangwa resigned from his position with immediate effect.

His resignation came a few months after the death of outspoken Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata who was the spokesperson of the Kibuli faction.

Ndirangwa was appointed Supreme Mufti of the Kibuli-based Muslim faction on December 16, 2015, replacing Shiek Zubairi Kayongo who died in April 2014.
