KAMPALA: HIV-positive grandfather remanded for defiling four grandchildren aged 2, 3, 6 and 9

The City Hall Magistrate’s Court in Kampala has charged and remanded a 62-year-old grandfather for defiling his four grandchildren.

Muhammudu Idi alias Zingo, a resident of Namuli Village, Bukoto sub-county in Kampala is reported to have been repeatedly defiling his grandchildren aged two, three, six and nine. Reports indicate that the grandfather is HIV positive.

The suspect was this afternoon brought before the City Hall Magistrate’s Court presided over by Magistrate Jane Tibagonzeka. He was charged with aggravated defilement.

The magistrate did not allow Muhammudu Idi to take any plea since the offenses he committed can only be heard by the High Court.

She remanded the suspect to Luzira Prison until April 26 when he will reappear for mention of his cases.

If found guilty, Muhammudu Idi faces a death sentence for defiling his grandchildren.
