Police in Bukedi South and Tororo have apprehended a suspect, Okongo Gerald, aged 25, a resident of Asinga “B” village, Malaba Town Council, for the kidnapping, aggravated defilement, and murder of an 18-month-old female juvenile, Promise Atte.

The incident unfolded on June 30, around midnight, when the girl was last seen playing with a 2-year-old child at Mama Musa’s bar in Asinga “B” Zone, where her mother, Naziwa Grace, was present. The following morning, on July 1, the lifeless body of the young victim was discovered in a cassava garden in Amagoro Central.
