Police in Wakiso have initiated a serious manhunt for one Ssekanjako Vincent, aged 40, for the alleged murder of his 3-year-old stepson, Muwanguzi Muyige.

The murder, which occurred on March 26, is alleged to be an act of revenge following separation from the boy’s mother, Nakintu Florence.

The suspect had been living with Nakintu as her husband. However, on March 25, they had a disagreement after Nakintu discovered that her husband had stolen a mobile phone, TV, and Shs100,000 from their house, leading to a fight.

This prompted Nakintu to leave their home with her 3-year-old son and seek refuge with a friend at Temangalo trading center.

The next day, the suspect pleaded with Nakintu to return home. During this process, he took his stepson to buy soda but disappeared with him.

Concerned, Nakintu waited until 10 pm, but when they didn’t return, she alerted other community members, and an immediate search was conducted.

The victim’s body was discovered in a room adjacent to their house. The stepfather had fatally struck the child on the head with a sharp object, causing instant death.

“We are intensifying our efforts to track down the suspect and ensure he faces justice. We will not cease our efforts until he is apprehended,” said the police.
