Police in Mpigi have recovered 17 human skulls at the shrine of Lujja Tabula, a fugitive wanted for masterminding the murder of Ndiga clan head, Eng. Daniel Bbosa.

Eng. Bbosa was shot dead on February 25, 2024, in Kikandwa village, Lungujja, Rubaga Division, Kampala. Following the incident, locals pursued the shooters, lynched one, and arrested Noah Lujja, who revealed that they were hired by Tabula.

The police announced that Tabula had fled Uganda and was suspected to be hiding in Tanzania. A bounty on his head was initially set at Shs10 million and later increased to Shs20 million for information leading to his capture. Despite the efforts, he has yet to be arrested.

However, on Monday, children who were collecting firewood around his abandoned home and shrines in Kabanga village, Mpigi district, discovered bones in metallic cases and decided to alert the locals who also called the police.

Upon excavation, the police found 17 human skulls in the metallic cases.

Katonga regional police spokesperson, Superintendent of Police (SP) Karim Majid, stated that investigations have been widened to determine who visited Tabula’s shrines, as they might hold clues about the origins of the 17 skulls.
