Lightning strike kills 14, injures 34 during church service

Lightning struck and killed 14 people, leaving 34 others injured in Lamwo District. The incident occurred on November 2 during a prayer service at a church in Zone 8, Block 2, in Palabek settlement camp.

The rain started around 5:00 PM, and the lightning struck at 5:30 PM.

The deceased have been identified as Nyamaet Thiluak, aged 17; Chaar Tot, aged 18; Madol Wigjang, aged 21; Nyachot Mawichnyuon, aged 17; Nyakueh Gatgueng, aged 15; Jima Gat Tiok, aged 14; Tany Tai, aged 12; Tidial Gatluak, aged 16; Chop Matai Chop, aged 15; Nyagai Diew, aged 9; Nyathak Mariner, aged 12; Lul Riek John, aged 14; Khamis Tut, aged 14; and Tura Betu, aged 14.
