President Yoweri Museveni has named his 2026–2031 cabinet ministers this evening.

Among the new ministers is Makasa Woman Member of Parliament Justine Nameere. The self-proclaimed ‘Stock empya’ has been appointed Minister of State for Local Government.

Victoria University Vice Chancellor Lawrence Muganga has been appointed Minister of State for Internal Affairs.

Amama Mbabazi’s wife, Jacqueline Mbabazi, has been appointed Minister of State for Gender, Labour and Social Development, Elderly Affairs.

87-year-old Moses Ali, the Adjumani West County Member of Parliament, has been dropped. He has been in government for over three decades. Matia Kasaija, who has served in cabinet since 2006, has been dropped as Minister of Finance.

Meanwhile, Jessica Alupo, Robinah Nabbanja, and Rebecca Kadaga have retained their positions.
