Police have identified the prime suspect as Abraham Mukalazi, a Physics teacher at the school. He reportedly fled after the incident and is currently being sought by detectives.

Savannah Regional Police spokesperson Sam Twiineamazima confirmed the incident, saying two other teachers have been arrested to assist with ongoing investigations as police intensify the search for Mukalazi.

Investigators are working to establish the circumstances that led to the alleged assault and determine what exactly transpired before the student’s death.

Meanwhile, police have directed that Nakibinge’s body be transferred to the Mulago Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
