A Friendship Bus carrying students has collided with a train at Namumira–Bukasa Village, Kyetume Parish, Nakisunga Sub-county, along Katosi Road in Mukono District.
The incident happened at around 6:45 a.m. The bus was transporting students from Mwebaze High School, Kakiri, who were travelling to Jinja District for an educational trip.
One female passenger died at the scene, while several students sustained injuries.
Police officers, working alongside other emergency responders, are evacuating the injured to Mukono General Referral Hospital and other nearby health facilities for medical treatment.
