The Special Forces Command (SFC) has passed out a new group of commandos after completing the Commando Qualification Course Intake 05/25-26 and started training for a new intake, Intake 06.
The pass-out ceremony was presided over by SFC Commander Maj Gen Asaph Mweteise Nyakikuru at the Special Warfare Centre and School, Camp Rufu, in Ruhengyere, Kiruhura District. He also officially declared the beginning of the new training intake.
Congratulating the graduands, Maj Gen Mweteise said completing the demanding course was an important milestone in developing a modern and professional army.
He emphasised the importance of continuous military training, saying it was necessary to prepare soldiers for changing warfare conditions and emerging security threats.
He noted that training and equipping Special Forces soldiers required substantial resources, but said the investment was necessary to maintain their operational capabilities.
The SFC commander urged the newly qualified commandos to apply the specialised combat skills they had acquired and remain prepared to carry out assignments wherever they were deployed.
“We have trained warriors to finish the enemies of Uganda within and beyond,” he said.
He also challenged the graduands to demonstrate professionalism, discipline and leadership in their respective units, reminding them to respect the military chain of command and remain committed to their duties.
“Strictly respect the chain of command, be dependable and professional, maintain your tactical edge and observe your unyielding commitment to service,” he told the soldiers.
Maj Gen Mweteise further warned against complacency, saying SFC soldiers must maintain high standards of discipline and remain prepared for their responsibilities.
He described the completion of the course as the beginning of a new chapter for the graduands as they take on their duties as qualified commandos.
