Police in Nateete has in detention a one Ssendaula George aged 50 years a resident of Mutundwe Zone 2 Rubaga Division for defiling his niece aged 5 years.
According to the CID spokesperson, Charles Atwiine the suspect was found at his home while victim was rescued but in severe pain.
She is currently receiving treatment as several medical check-ups are being done on her to ascertain her health conditions following the incident.
Atwiine said that the suspect will also undergo medical check-ups before being charged with Aggravated Defilement.
For starters, there is “Defilement”, which is defined as performing a sexual act with anyone under 18 years of age and the maximum penalty is life imprisonment. And then there is “Aggravated Defilement”, which among others includes having sex with an underage where the offender is infected with HIV or parent/guardian. The offense is punishable by death.
