Makindye West Member of Parliament Hon. Allan Ssewanyana has officially announced his bid to contest for Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) President.

The Shadow Minister for Sports in Parliament Ssewanyana who is also commonly known as ‘Omusajja wa Bwino’ has made the announcement this morning on Monday at his offices in Makindye vowing to oust incumbent Moses Magogo who he says has made the federation his personal property hence creating unenjoyably poor environments for every stakeholder including; players, investors, coaches, sponsors, media and fans. He asked him not to stand again.

This will be the second try for Ssewanyana to take up FUFA’s top office as he tried to contest in 2013 but he was eliminated on technicalities in the FUFA rules hence leaving Magogo unopposed.

Ssewanyana’s announcement comes just a week after Magogo hinted that he will be going for the third term. He has been unopposed in the two previous contests (2013 and 2017 elections). His tenure will expire in August 31, 2021.

Mujib Kasule is also expected to announce his bid for the FUFA seat tomorrow on Tuesday.
