Alpha Ssali Thierry, son of renowned musician Bebe Cool, has said that keeping his head out of the media has helped him focus on his football career.

Speaking in an interview on FUFA TV, Alpha, the promising winger who recently signed a two-year contract with NEC FC from Express FC, said he is always criticized even when he performs well. He added that he has grown accustomed to it and has instead chosen to focus on improving his football career.

“I face constant criticism because of my background. Even when I do well, I am criticized. I know I have proved myself enough, especially compared to people my age,” said Alpha.

He added, “I can do better, and I know this season I will achieve that.”

When asked how he is adapting to his new teammates at NEC, Alpha said they are like a family but very competitive, as the team is vying for the Uganda Premier League title.

“It’s very intense training, but I know I have entered a field where I have to compete because our aim is to win the league,” he said.

After featuring for Express FC in the first round of this season, Alpha now has to earn a spot in the starting eleven of his new club, NEC FC. He will face stiff competition from experienced players like James Jarieko, Paul Mucureezi, and Ibrahim Kasinde.
