DStv subscribers in Uganda will be able to watch selected Premier League and UEFA Champions League matches on a Shs25,000 monthly package under a new subscription structure that MultiChoice Uganda will introduce on 5 November 2026.
The changes, announced at MultiChoice Uganda’s head offices, will see the pay-TV provider reorganise its offerings into four main packages: Starter at Shs25,000, Select at Shs60,000, Sports at Shs100,000 and Ultimate at Shs185,000 per month.
The new line-up is intended to give customers more choice, with separate options for viewers seeking general entertainment and those who want broader access to live sports without paying for the most expensive package.
Under the changes, DStv Access becomes Starter, Family becomes Select, Compact becomes Sports, while Premium is renamed Ultimate.
The biggest change for football fans is the introduction of SuperSport KICKOFF on the Starter package, which replaces Access and adds 10 channels to the previous line-up. The package has more than 110 channels and will carry La Liga matches alongside selected fixtures from the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
At Shs60,000 per month, Select replaces Family and offers more than 140 channels, including movies, local and international series, news, children’s programming and selected sports. Subscribers will also have access to the full kids’ channel offering and a range of entertainment channels.
The Shs100,000 Sports package is designed specifically for sports fans. It includes 17 sports channels and access to every Premier League and UEFA Champions League match, as well as cricket, selected international club rugby, WWE and UFC.
Importantly, Sports also includes the general entertainment channels available on Select, allowing subscribers to watch movies, series and other programmes alongside live sporting events.
At the top of the line-up is Ultimate, priced at Shs185,000 per month. The package replaces Premium and combines the content available on Sports with additional premium sporting events and entertainment.
These include Formula 1, MotoGP, Grand Slam tennis, major golf tournaments and international series on M-Net. The package offers more than 170 channels, making it the most comprehensive option in the new line-up.
MultiChoice Uganda Chief Executive Officer Hassan Saleh said the changes were designed to reflect the different ways customers consume television content and improve value across the subscription range.

“Our focus is on giving subscribers better value and access to the entertainment they love,” Saleh said. “DStv’s strength is the combination of African entertainment, leading international content and unrivalled live sport in one place. We’ve reimagined our packages to better reflect how customers watch today, with tailored options specifically for general entertainment and sports fans.”
The company has also refreshed its movie offering, introducing M-Net Movies+, M-Net Stars and M-Net Legends to provide a broader selection of films, quicker access to new releases and fewer repeats.
Julianne Mweheire, the Uganda Communications Commission’s Director of Industry Affairs and Content Development, welcomed the changes, saying they demonstrated the importance of companies listening to customers and responding to their needs.
“For the first time, we are not talking about economics, we are talking about customers speaking and the entity listening. This is really something to celebrate for the consumer,” Mweheire said.
Beyond the package changes, MultiChoice is introducing SuperSport Swahili, a dedicated 24-hour sports channel launching on 5 November for viewers in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
The channel will offer sports coverage with Swahili commentary, studio analysis and programming tailored to East African audiences. Its content will include the Premier League, UEFA competitions, La Liga, Serie A, international football, athletics, UFC, WWE and other sports relevant to the region.
The launch is part of MultiChoice’s efforts to expand access to international sporting events while presenting them in languages familiar to local audiences.
The company also says its integration with CANAL+ will strengthen its ability to secure content and draw on the group’s international experience and relationships across Africa.
Alongside international programming, MultiChoice plans to continue investing in African productions. Upcoming titles include the fourth season of Kampala Crème, Musama, the fourth season of Home of Our Stars, Tie the Knot and Short and Byg Show, a podcast hosted by social media personalities Isaac Katende, popularly known as Kasuku, and Shamim Mayanja, known as Zubeda.
The new packages and SuperSport Swahili channel will both take effect on 5 November 2026, marking a major restructuring of DStv’s subscription options in Uganda.
