Following the demolition of Park Yard market, Nakivubo, that left over 5000 traders stranded on the next move, it turns out that more will be affected. While appearing on the NTV show fourth estate, Minister Betty Kamya said that Kasubi market is next on their eviction list!

She stated that UNRA wrote to the vendors notifying them that they would like to extend the road that runs next to the market and soon the traders must give way to the new development.

Kamya defended the demolition of Parkyard market stating that the market was  illegal and not gazetted. She had a hard time convincing the Sunday show panelists on why eviction was done in the night even before the thirty days notice could come to an and.
In her initial defence, Kamya argued that when she had learnt of a move by a vendor to get a court order that could stall the redevelopment of the Park yard.

Kamya used the luganda dictum of “akufumbira eyebigere, omufumbira ya mutwe, nemwenkanya evumbe” which loosely translates to “if I hurt you, you might strike back harder.”
Kamya who first expressed ignorance at Ham being the investor taking over the parkyard, later accepted that Ham was indeed dealing with the landlord “Nakivubo stadium”.
