Gone were the days when being online was taken for granted. Those days are gone! As it clocked July 1, only tax payers and tax evaders were able to access social media in the Pearl of Africa.

At the time of writing this, the number of my friends online had significantly reduced. Reason? The O.T.T tax. Surely, Shs200 has never been as precious as this. The last time Shs200 was so precious was when one taxi’s fare fell short of the amount. The difference would be enough to earn you slaps, punches accompanied by a truckload of insults. The ‘value’ of Shs200 has significantly increased. Right now, Shs200 stands between a slay queen and a potential sponsor, a business and prospective clients, a newspaper and its readers.

To those who say, ‘I don’t touch coins, they have been humbled. To pastors’ who say, ‘Don’t bring me coins’, the flock is awake. To slay queens are girlfriends who reject our money, we shall wait when you ask us to pay for you O.T.T!

By the look of it, being online will not be a luxury but Ugandans seem only ready to do when they need to do so! VPN users are having a field day and the government is not impressed because tax evasion is criminal. So how can the government drive traffic to social media?

Well, this social media tax will be a big blow to the pornography control committee. For once, the government can reap from leaking nud3s! Reason? Ugandans will rush to pay tax just to watch or view the nud3s!

Therefore, people need to be more thankful to those who leak their nud3s because they will be contributing to the economy. Also, that  will call for less ridicule of their body parts or criticism of their moves. As it stands, nud3s will help to increase collection of social media tax. Imagine where we have reached as a country!
